This Data Scientist role centers around leveraging our analytics platform to help push the boundaries in a space that is ripe for improved data-driven decision making. This includes leveraging data mining and predictive analytics in the infectious disease management space. Our real-time healthcare insight engine provides business leaders with the tools to modernize and improve the way they serve the medical community. The result is a more transparent, efficient and productive ecosystem for antimicrobial stewardship. The data scientist will leverage technology and data science to address complex, real-world problems in the Healthcare and Life Science space. The role will tackle problems in the real world, therefore creativity and problem-solving in addition to a strong background in statistics, modeling and advanced analytics is paramount.

Your contribution will be key when working with the corporate sales and medical affair teams to understand key challenges and identifying the modeling that can help address these needs. To this end, the Data Scientist will be an integral member of the commercial project team, providing the basis for the dashboard insights necessary to support our industry's needs for better infectious disease management.

The Data Scientist will bring both the statistical know-how and initiative necessary to translate epidemiological puzzles into insights. The data scientist will also play a role with the roadmap of the platform in an emerging market place for value-based healthcare. This role will serve in a industry leadership capacity and will be expected to collaborate with key opinion leaders to build compelling and competitive roadmap. Accountabilities include:
* Retrieve, prepare, and process a rich data variety of data sources from hospital information systems, LIS, internal/external sources, Pharmacy, EHR, and other operational data sources
Analyze and model structured data and implement algorithms to support analysis using advanced statistical and mathematical methods from statistics, machine learning, data mining, econometrics, and advanced modelingPerform Statistical Natural Language Processing to mine unstructured data, using methods such as clustering, topic analysis, named entity recognition, document classification, and sentiment analysis using distributed file systemsUtilize a diverse array of technologies and tools as needed, to deliver insights, such as R, SAS, Python, Spark, Hadoop, Google analytics or Microsoft APSTranslate advanced infectious disease management problems into technical approaches that yield actionable recommendations, in diverse sub-domains such productivity, population management, clinical research, pathogen resistance tracking, and antibiotic stewardship; communicate results and educate others through insightful visualizations, reports and presentations

Qualifications:

• Master's degree from an accredited college/university in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Econometrics, or related fields, with five years of relevant experience and strong knowledge in at least one of the following fields: statistics, data mining, machine learning, statistics, operations research, econometrics, natural language processing, and/or information retrieval; PhD preferred
• Deep experience in extracting, cleaning, preparing, and modeling data; command-line scripting, data structures, and algorithms; and working in a Linux environment
• Proficiency in analysis packages (e.g. R, SAS) or programming languages (e.g. Python, Ruby, Java)
• Experience with Advanced Analytics platforms such as SAS VA or Viya including Modeling and Machine learning, preferred.
• Ability to translate engagement objectives to a project plan with milestones, and resource/technology requirements, and teach, lead, and manage projects to successful execution
• Ability to work with clients to assess needs, aid, and resolve problems, using excellent problem-solving skills and verbal/written communication to non-technical audiences
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Access &/or SQL or other relational databases preferred

• Ability to communicate with and interpret the operational requirements of end-users.
• Ability to write and maintain technical and non-technical instructions in the use of programs/reports and/or program/report/ modifications, in addition to presenting results as needed.
• Strong relevant analytics experience, such as data driven profiling, segmentation, and targeting experience and real-world data analytics
• Strong organizational, communication and project management skills.
• Must be a highly-motivated self-starter.
